How to Set-Up a Facebook Page for Your Business
A Facebook Business Page is a great tool. This post explains HOW to set up a Facebook Business Page – not why you would want to have this valuable tool available to communicate with your audience.
1. You must have a personal Facebook account to create a business page. If you do not plan to use your personal account, simply set up your privacy settings so people don’t think your profile is open.
2. After you have created your personal account – visit any Facebook Business Page for easy access to the link you use to create your page. For example, visit Gillis Marketing’s Facebook Page. Scroll to the bottom left hand corner of the page where you will find:
3. Before you continue – PLEASE READ: When you name your page – be sure. Absolutely certain. You cannot change it. Period. I also suggest that you add a search keyword or two if what you do is not clear in your business name. For example, 99s: Women Pilots of New England. This Facebook Page is for an organization entitled the 99s made up of women pilots. The location this Facebook Page represents is New England. Therefore, someone who searches 99 or women pilots will see this Facebook Page in the results.

If you are a local business – definitely click on that option. That flavor of Facebook Page allows you to put in your business address, hours, parking situation, etc.
4. After you click Create Official Page and confirm for Facebook that you are authorized to create the Facebook Page – you will arrive at a fantastic step-by-step “Get Started” page. This is where I will leave you – Facebook walks through each element you may add to your Facebook Business Page.
